Hebrew 101

Part 2 of the Junior Girl Scout World Neighbors badge asks you to learn to count to ten in two languages (other than your own) as well as to say hello, goodbye, thank you, and you're welcome in three different languages.

Hebrew uses a different alphabet than you are used to and is read from right to left. The word "Shalom," which means hello, goodbye, and peace, looks like this:

The chart below presents Hebrew pronunciation of words using English characters. (Note that the "ch" is sounded like the "ch" in Bach):
